My name is Chelsea Moore, and I’m a thirty something from Charleston, South Carolina. I’m married to a wonderful man, Cameron, and have two kids- Isabella and Knox. I have taught for 14 years, mostly in first grade!
Over the years I’ve realized the way to have a well managed classroom is to cultivate the social and emotional skills of my students! Through this process, children can understand and control their emotions, develop healthy relationships, set positive goals, make responsible choices, and more! When we don’t make time to teach these skills (explicitly and integrated), we end up using more time dealing with challenging behaviors. I also implement responsive classroom techniques like morning meeting and closing circle, positive behavior modeling, and logical consequences; it’s been a game changer. I want to share information and resources so that you can invest in your student’s emotional well being, and transform your classroom community.
